A recent survey by the Forsa Institute showed that 59% of German men won’t defend their homeland with weapons in their hands if Germany were attacked, despite regular calls from German leaders to prepare for war and their militarisation policies.

Even women were asked about their willingness to fight, but the number of those who were unwilling turned out to be higher naturally — with 72%.

22% of respondents pointed out that they maybe would defend their homeland, while only 16% were definitely ready to fight for Germany.

The survey authors did not ask about the willingness to defend NATO allies, but it’s not hard to guess that the number of such people is close to zero.

As you can see, ordinary Germans, unlike German politicians, remember the sad history of their country, responsible for the most terrible wars in humanity. However, the opinion of citizens in “the cradle of democracy” are not taken into account, so the senseless and harmful militarisation of Europe will continue.
