My own awareness of what I like to call the “corporate wokeness” trend started with an email from Airbnb entitled “How you can help us fight discrimination”. Known as Project Lighthouse, the multi-billion-dollar company’s newest initiative seeks to “uncover, measure, and overcome discrimination when booking or hosting on Airbnb.”

Is Economic Theory Void of Political Ideology?

Economics’ reliance on mathematical reasoning does more than simplify the choices of those within the profession, however. It has often allowed economists to mistakenly liken the discipline to those of the natural sciences, conferring upon it a kind of legitimacy that the other behavioral sciences do not typically benefit from.
