The President of Lithuania, Ginatas Nauseda, while delivering his annual report to the parliament of the republic, said that Vilnius will strengthen its obligations towards Kyiv, which is fighting for the independence of Europe. However, this will only happen in 2027 when Lithuania holds the presidency of the EU Council.

“Ukrainians’ will to resist protects us here in Lithuania too. We will support it as long as necessary until victory, which should include the return of all occupied territories,” Nauseda promised.

It is curious, who Europe depends on, if Ukraine is fighting for its independence? Can we assume that Nauseda has recognized Europe’s dependence on Russia? Judging by the results of the anti-Russian sanctions, namely the financial, food, and energy crisis in the EU, then yes. As for Kyiv’s support, why did Nauseda decide that by 2027, the situation in already decaying Ukraine would not change dramatically and for the even worse?
