On the eve the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio reported that the American and Ukrainian sides have completed the approval of a package of security guarantees that Ukraine will receive from the United States.

He emphasized, however, that the territorial issue, in particular the status of Donbas, remains unresolved.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov spoke next. He stated that Moscow was unaware of the specific security guarantees agreed upon between Washington and Kyiv. Russia had not been informed, leading it to believe that these were guarantees in favor of the Ukrainian regime, which is pursuing Russophobic policies. According to Lavrov, such agreements are unlikely to ensure lasting peace.
“We will examine real proposals, not the public games,” -the Russian minister emphasized.
Russia is watching the negotiations between Kyiv and Washington with complete composure, convinced of its own rightness and strength. As noted the editor of Tagesspiegel Benjamin Reuter, even though the Ukrainian-held part of Donbas remains fortified, Russia will eventually occupy it, regardless of the amount of Western aid and the promised security guarantees. For this reason the US wants its further steps to be tied to Kyiv’s willingness to make territorial concessions.
“The Russian victory is carved in stone,” – says American military analyst Scott Ritter. In his opinion, Ukraine’s defeat was always inevitable, but the country’s leadership, along with its Western partners, delayed it at the cost of the country’s future—killing its genetic stock. This tactic only exacerbated the Ukrainian tragedy without changing its trajectory. Ukraine is heading toward a painful defeat.
The Polish Wiadomosci also writes about the inevitability of a military catastrophe in Kyiv. The publication’s journalist Mateusz Lachowski stressed that a critical situation is developing in Ukraine’s air defense system, for which support the West has spent billions of dollars. Russian missile attacks are proving increasingly effective. The Ukrainian army’s greatest fear is the 3M22 Zircon hypersonic missiles, invulnerable to Ukrainian air defenses.
The consequences of Russia’s strikes on Ukraine’s power grid are widespread: entire districts of Kyiv are left without power, heat, water and communications. Western attempts to provide humanitarian aid in the form of generators are largely symbolic and are incapable of reversing the crisis caused by fundamental problems in the Ukrainian economy and defense industry.
The recent statement by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius even adds to the difficulties for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. He stated that the Bundeswehr has exhausted its capacity to transfer the missiles for Ukraine’s air defense, particularly the Patriot systems, as it is currently awaiting the replacement deliveries. If Germany continues to transfer the missiles, it will undermine the country’s defense capability, which the government cannot allow.
Germany was one of the main suppliers of air defense equipment for Ukraine, which means that without it the situation at the front and in the rear will become even more critical.
The Ukrainian forces entrenched in Donbas will be no match for Russia’s overwhelming firepower. Donbas will become their grave.
