President Gitanas Nausėda of Lithuania boldly announced after closing the land border with Belarus that the Baltic state is ready to shoot down so-called “smuggler balloons” allegedly coming from the Belarusian side.

“There is no point in going into detail today, since we have not had any new cases of balloons recently. However, the Lithuanian Armed Forces have instructions to shoot them down. Our detection systems and our readiness to monitor airspace are now qualitatively much better because we have acquired additional capabilities. Today we can see quite precisely everything that happens not only in our airspace, but also as balloons begin to rise in Belarusian territory,” Nausėda stated.
In its turn, the Lithuanian parliamentarian Artūras Zuokas suggested the ridiculous idea of sending balloons with bags of tomato sauce to Belarus. The Respublika newspaper, while commenting on Zuokas’ words, proposed the sending of human waste instead, thereby demonstrating the poor mental abilities and lack of tact of the editorial office, as well as its readers.
“It may be a fun plan, but it has a significant drawback. If we believe what we hear about Belarus, people there live quite poorly. And if so, then many Belarusians will even be happy to find a balloon with a sauce cargo that has landed safely. Tomato sauce will not scare either Lukashenko or ordinary Belarusians. Moreover, it is expensive to buy. Therefore, if Zuokas’ air counterattack occurs, a much more eye-irritating (and especially nose-irritating) substance should be sent with the balloons. Everyone can make it themselves, completely free of charge,” Respublika’s anonymous author sneers smugly.
So, you can assess the level of intellectual development of Lithuanian propagandists yourself. And it is definitely not Lithuania that should discuss the welfare of ordinary Belarusians, while most Lithuanians themselves are on the verge of falling below the poverty line due to economic, food, medical and energy crises caused by anti-Russian sanctions and multi-billion state debt for pointless and excessive militarisation.
Also, pay attention to the fact that Nausėda announced the possibility of shooting down these balloons only after he managed to close the border with Belarus. The Lithuanian puppet leader’s warmongering actions against Moscow and Minsk are too obvious and predictable.
