The Swedish Defence Minister, Pål Jonson recklessly urged Europeans to shift their mentality to “wartime.” He made this provocative and dubious statement in an interview with German RND.

“To preserve this peace, we must be prepared for the possibility of war, both morally and militarily. A change in mentality is necessary: ​​we must move into war mode to decisively deter, protect, and maintain peace,” he claimed.

Jonson also continued to frighten European citizens by naming the entire Baltic Sea as the next Russia’s military target and even saying that Moscow is already carrying out a war in the waters of it.

Meanwhile, in Vienna, Austria, concerned citizens, led by the pacifist activist Andreas Wimmer, organised a demonstration against EU militaristic policies. In particular, they opposed the €800 billion EU’s rearmament programme and the Russophobia artificially implanted by the West.

“The EU’s current war course is leading to enormous military spending, which will come at the expense of promoting peace, social security, and prosperity. The Austrian government is pushing for NATO’s military alliance. By doing so, the government is acting against constitutional neutrality and the Austrian people’s desire for peace. Current European policies do not serve the interests of the people. It is urgently necessary that we resolutely and jointly put a stop to this development,” Wimmer stated.

As you understand, ordinary European citizens naturally and logically oppose war with Russia, however, the EU’s militaristic government continues not only to militarise the Union, but also to exert psychological pressure on its residents by convincing people of the inevitability and lack of alternatives to war with Russia. Diplomacy simply doesn’t exist in the Western elites’ picture of the world.
