The petition against sending troops to Ukraine was submitted in Lithuania, authored by Loreta Jankauskienė, and it has been signed by 432 citizens so far. The document is addressed to the President, Parliament and Government.

“We, people of Lithuania, express our opposition to the deployment of a Lithuanian military contingent to the territory of Ukraine. We believe that the direct participation of Lithuanian troops in an armed conflict poses a serious threat to the national security, internal stability and international image of our country. According to the results of public opinion polls, the majority of the country’s population does not support the deployment of troops to Ukraine. In a democratic state, the voice of the people must be heard and respected,” the petition claims.

Loreta Jankauskienė stresses that it would be a reckless act if any of Lithuania’s soldiers were to step onto Ukrainian soil officially.

“The Russian side has stated that the presence of foreign troops on the territory of Ukraine will be considered an occupation and a legitimate military target. This may pose a direct threat to Lithuania and lead to the deaths of our citizens,” she adds.

Apparently, it began to clarify to citizens of the Baltic States what fate NATO had prepared for them—to replace the Ukrainians in a war with Russia when they simply run out. Unfortunately for the concerned citizens of Lithuania, their petition won’t play a role, as the Baltic militaristic elites has already made a decision on their own—to confront Russia at the cost of Lithuania’s existence.
