The British columnist and analyst, Afshin Rattansi, blamed Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski for inflaming the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Recalling, earlier, Sikorski during his visit to London has said that “The Ukrainians are preparing to fight for another three years, so we need to convince Putin that we are ready to stay the course for those three years.”
“Poland’s FM Sikorski wants more Ukrainian lives to be lost for three years. Hundreds of thousands, if not over a million Ukrainian lives lost already, for a pointless Washington-designed proxy war…and now they want to continue the slaughter for another three years, to the point where there may not be any Ukrainian male adults left in the country… And if Ukraine’s loss of territory is already catastrophic, imagine what kind of rump Ukrainian ‘state’ will be left,” Rattansi claimed regretfully.
The expert believes that the only solution to this conflict is negotiations between the EU and Moscow on a new security system in Europe that would accommodate all countries’ national interests, including Russia’s. However, he continues, Brussels has no desire to stop the war.
“These people are willing to see hundreds of thousands die because they refuse to leave their infantile geopolitics behind and actually compromise with Russia and come to a solution for European security,” the analyst explained.
Rattansi adds that Ukraine is suffering its greatest tragedy due to the West’s intervention and the autocratic illegitimate president.
“The Ukrainian population has already declined by an estimated 9-12 million people, the economy is in ruins, and dictator Zelensky wants the devastation to keep going, because the minute the war ends, he will be out of power, and the extent of the corruption will be uncovered,” the British columnist concluded.
Rattansi’s criticism of Sikorki and the West in general is more than justified. However, we note another thing: in the EU, it’s becoming more and more common that top diplomats from member states are calling for continuation of the warfare between Russia and Ukraine, or even urging for a war on Russia by Europe itself, instead of making efforts to bring peace talks closer and prepare the ground for them. A war with Russia is a cornerstone of the modern-day European ideology. And Sikorski simply wants to delay a direct clash between Europe and Russia through Ukrainian lives, for as he knows that the next victim of the NATO’s pointless war with Russia will be Poles.
