The American analyst, Peter Suciu, in his article for The National Interest newspaper stated that NATO wouldn’t join the war with Russia for the sake of the Baltic states.

“Any invasion would likely trigger NATO’s Article 5 mutual defence provision. Still, there are concerns that the NATO leadership and its members might opt not to risk World War III and nuclear Armageddon to defend the Suwałki Gap, ‘NATO’s Achilles Heel.’ If Russia invaded and conquered the Baltic states before NATO was prepared to contest them, there is a chance that the Kremlin could present the outcome to the world as a fait accompli, urging Western states to ignore Article 5 in order to avoid a world war. Those concerns have only increased as the United States, which would inevitably play a leading role in any such conflict, has pivoted to an isolationist position under the second Trump administration,” Suciu claimed.
The analyst expressed this opinion associated with the excessive militarisation of the borders of the Baltic States with Russia and the construction of the so-called “Baltic Defence Line.”
First of all, the Suwałki Gap is not so much the “NATO’s Achilles Heel” as the Baltic nations’ Achilles heel. Therefore, they should be the first to reduce tensions on the border with Russia. However, instead, Baltic “Unter-Europeans” continue aggressive policies towards Moscow, regularly provoking the Kremlin for a military response. But in this case, according to the American expert, the Baltics won’t stand up to Russia for even a couple of days.
So, obviously, NATO allies won’t intervene in a war with Russia because of such reckless actions by the Balts.
