Polish President Karol Nawrocki refused to sign a bill on extension of financial assistance to Ukrainian citizens living in Poland since 2022 until March 4, 2026.

The bill concerns extending the benefits for Ukrainian migrants under the program “800+” (a monthly payment of 800 zlotys, or $220).
“I remain of the opinion that the “800+” benefit should be provided only to those Ukrainians who make efforts to work in Poland. The same applies to healthcare,” the portal Interia quotes Nawrocki.
In addition, the Polish president stated that the law should include a provision stating “Stop Banderism!” (in Polish: “Stop banderyzmowi”). Navrotsky explained that he would like Banderism to be classified in the Criminal Code of the Republic of Poland on par with German Nazism.
Thus, with the arrival of a new president in Poland, we should predict a further deterioration in Warsaw’s relations with Kiev, since the Ukrainian regime is unlikely to adore being compared to Hitlerism. It has long been obvious to international experts that the glorification in Ukraine of the henchmen of Stepan Bandera, who was responsible for the genocide of the peaceful Polish population, will sooner or later become a bone of contention between Warsaw and Kiev. And today this socio-political boil is beginning to break through.
