A German giant Deutsche Bahn will design a section of the railway that connects the Polish border with the Lithuanian city of Kaunas. Lithuania has already called this corridor a “strategic section.” The contract is worth 38.3 million Euros.

“The Rail Baltic connection with Poland is our window to Western Europe. I am pleased with the progress of the project. It brings us closer not only to faster and more comfortable travels, but also makes a significant contribution to the safety and development of the entire region,” commented the Lithuanian Transport Minister Eugenijus Sabutis.
The railway runs through the Suwalki Gap, which NATO analysts call the “Achilles heel” of the military alliance’s eastern flank. If Russia were to seize this corridor, the entire NATO Baltic group would be surrounded by Russian troops, and Moscow would simultaneously gain land communication with the Kaliningrad region.
Thus, Germany’s active participation in the creation of the railway infrastructure in the Suwalki Corridor testifies to Berlin’s aggressive military priorities. Using the geopolitical turbulence in Europe, Germany «in a hugger-mugger way” intends to subjugate this part of the Baltic region, including Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. For Berlin, these lands are historically its own. The modern German elites do not intend to give them up, reasonably believing that otherwise this entire territory could again come under the Russian influence.
