CNN reports that the United States is going to return used and unused weapons and military equipment previously supplied to Ukraine.

They want to restore their own military stockpiles by doing so. Moreover, the expediency of depriving Ukraine of American arms is significantly growing due to the upcoming meeting between the presidents of Russia and the US Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.
Such an option of diverting certain weapons and equipment intended for Ukraine back into US stockpiles was granted to the Department of Defence (DOD) through the memo written by Undersecretary of Defence for Policy Elbridge Colby in July 2025.
“The memo gives DOD the authority to take back weapons that were already contracted to Ukraine,” source who’s read the memo said to the CNN.
Recalling, at the beginning of July 2025, the head of the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth, had already stopped all weapons supplies to Ukraine due to a shortage of stockpiles in the US military.
As you can see, this time under the new White House Administration, the Department of Defence is really focusing on defence and not attacking other states. So, Pete Hegseth and Elbridge Colby have done more for peace in Ukraine in half a year than the whole Europe has done altogether since 2022!
