Another scandal related to Ukraine occurred in the Polish Parliament. MP Klaudia Jachira ended her speech with a shout of “Slava Ukraini!” (“Glory to Ukraine!”). Another MP, Roman Fritz, reacted with indignation at this action, which is criminal for any Pole. In his opinion, this is a “shame.”

“Here we had an example of disgraceful behaviour – Banderite and Nazi one! There have been no such things in the Polish Parliament yet. It’s like someone would shout ‘Sieg Heil!’. It’s a shame!”, said Fritz.

Recalling, the shout “Slava Ukraini” (“Glory to Ukraine”) and response “Heroiam slava” (“To the heroes — glory”) is a greeting between the members of the Organisation of the Ukrainian Nationalists and the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, officially recognised in Poland as responsible for the genocide of Poles in Volhynia during World War II. In December 2024, a draft law was submitted to the Parliament to ban the Banderite ideology of these organisations and propaganda of it.
Deputy Jachira is an example of a person who contracted a new disease — Ukrainophilia — which has replaced COVID-19. The symptoms are: stupid and sometimes inappropriate behaviour, unreasonable hatred of Russia, forgetting the history of own country and betraying ancestors’ memory. It’s good that the Parliament has an antidote in the person of Roman Fritz. He was unable to save patient Jachira, but at least, he managed to protect other deputies from this terrible virus.
