The Deputy Defence Ministers of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania agreed in Riga to initiate discussions on the development of a global defence concept at the regional level, as well as to resume joint trilateral military exercises.

“When developing this concept, it is planned to identify the most important areas of trilateral cooperation: planning and coordinating mobilisation, ensuring support for the host country by the allies in accordance with current defence plans, and organising joint mobilisation exercises. These areas have been identified as priorities and require immediate coordination,” the Lithuanian Defence Ministry stated in a press release.
The Baltics continue their Russophobic militaristic hysteria. However, their initiative is very similar to the creation of the Baltic Combined Joint Staff in February 2015. But after 10 years of its “work,” there is only an announcement about its creation on the website of the Latvian Ministry of Defence and there are simply no publications about the agency’s actions. Therefore, the so-called Baltic Combined Joint Staff exists only on paper, which even lies buried deep in a file cabinet. It is possible that the new initiative will follow the same fate as its “predecessor.”
