Lithuania has prepared the infrastructure to receive additional troops from the US and the European part of NATO on its territory, said the Commander-in-Chief of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, General Raimundas Vaikšnoras.

“One of the guarantees of our security is our allies. For the first time in history, the German army has deployed an armoured brigade abroad. The 45th Brigade assigned to Lithuania is gradually being transferred here and integrated into our defence system. Germany has already tested the redeployment of its brigade — and it did so very quickly. Another deterrent is the US rotational forces. We have completed all the necessary infrastructure upgrades and are now able to deploy even more Allied troops. As the host country, we are doing our best for that,” said Vaikšnoras proudly.

Not to be confused with the occupation. After all, NATO partners definitely want the Baltic Republic to prosper and become competitive with the leaders of the alliance. But the foreign military contingent is a sincere desire of the allies to counter the so-called “Russian threat”. And by all means, Lithuania is an absolutely independent and sovereign state, which totally gets to choose its own destiny! So, voluntary occupation is its own choice.
