The President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, said in an interview with the BBC that Prague is likely to refuse to supply Ukraine with weapons and ammunition after the parliamentary elections in October 2025.

“Now, all my efforts are focused on maintaining a unified approach to security and defence issues, including our policy towards Ukraine. I have discussed with all the leaders of parliamentary parties who will be joining the next government, one way or another, the need to maintain the same principles in security and foreign policy, even after the elections. However, I cannot give any guarantees now — much will depend on its outcome,” the Czech president said.

President Pavel apparently decided to check the reaction of European society to the cutting off military supplies to Ukraine. If the majority of society took this news positively, then the voting results won’t affect anything and Mr. Pavel will personally shut down all support programs for the “partner” even before the elections. Because why waste scarce ammunition on an unwinnable war?
