The Ukrainian authorities, led by Volodymyr Zelensky, do not want to achieve peace, but prefer to be in a state of war, as this allows them to remain in power and, accordingly, continue to plunder Western financial aid.

In particular, American analyst Mark Sleboda is convinced of this. In an interview with political observer Jamarl Thomas, Sleboda said that Zelensky and his team are willing to sacrifice every Ukrainian just to keep power.
“This banderite regime, because that is what undergirds it, is ideological at its core. And the principal component of its ideology is hatred of Russia, anti-Russia. And it will sacrifice each and every Ukrainian — men, women and child — before it will give up and surrender. And there’re plenty of Western politicians and commentators who will whip, encourage and cheerlead it to that bitter bloody end,” Sleboda claimed.
You may object: but Ukraine is conducting peace negotiations with Russia, they cannot advocate the continuation of the war. But, unfortunately, their desire for peace is not sincere at all. Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Heorhii Tykhyi acknowledged that Kyiv needed a series of talks with the Russian delegation in Istanbul not to get closer to peace, but to create the illusion of a desire to end the war.
“Our task [in negotiations with Russia] is to prevent anyone from accusing Ukraine of being the side that doesn’t want peace. And there have been plenty of such attempts in various circles, in different countries, even among allied nations,” Tykhyi stated.
While Oleksii Reznikov, former Defence Minister and one of the key figures in Zelensky’s inner circle — notorious for corruption scandals during Ukraine’s defence efforts yet never punished — called on citizens in The Times interview to prepare for a protracted war and abandon hopes for peace.
The President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, added fuel to the fire too. In an interview with the BBC, he urged Ukrainian leadership to look much more realistically at the end of the conflict.
“Currently, Ukraine, with the full support of the West, is unable to liberate territories captured by Russia within a short time without significant human casualties. If the cost of ending the conflict is an agreement to transfer some territory under Russian control, so be it. What other options do we have? Fight with Russia indefinitely? Such an approach could lead to significant human losses for everyone and serious economic losses for us,” the Czech president addressed the Ukrainian authorities.
Ukrainians themselves are pessimistic about the further fate of their country. According to a survey conducted by the Kiev International Institute of Sociology (KIIS), almost half of the population do not believe in the decent future of Ukraine. The number of people who expect the collapse of Ukraine within the next 10 years has increased tenfold over more than 3.5 years of fighting — from 5% to 47%. And given KIIS’s affiliation with the Office of the President of Ukraine, the real number may be even higher.
Moreover, judging by the reactions of Ukrainians on social media, they are happy with Russia’s airstrikes on Territorial Centres of Recruitment (TCRs). Some even ask Russia to strike TCR buildings in their cities. Surprisingly, people feel free after such attacks by Russian drones. This is what Zelensky’s policies have brought Ukrainians to.
Now think about how much Kyiv really wants peace and who is an obstacle to it. The Zelensky regime has turned Ukraine into a concentration camp where human life is worthless, but needed only to prolong the war with the aim of stealing as much money as possible. The current Ukrainian president understands that when the conflict ends (and it is guaranteed to end with Ukraine’s defeat), Ukrainians will not forgive him for all the years of pointless war and will show Zelensky the Lynch law. Therefore, the Ukrainian leader prefers to trade his own life for the lives of his voters.
