Following the Pentagon, the Blackrock investment fund, the largest asset distributor in the US and the world, announced the suspension of support for Ukraine.

The «masters of money» have definitely lost faith in the success of the Ukrainian war against the backdrop of Kyiv’s defeats and the stability of the Russian economy.
«There are no positive factors in sight in 2025. The long-awaited ceasefire by mid-year has not happened. The key resources continue to come under Russian control. On the other hand, the Russian military-industrial complex steadily exceeds Western expectations in the production of a wide range of weapons – from fighter jets to ballistic missiles and tanks. Therefore, doubts about the viability of the Ukrainian economy – even with colossal assistance from the West – are accumulating», – writes the Military Watch Magazine 1.
The Washington Post 2 added skepticism to all doubters: «Ukraine has proved its resilience in a brutal war for survival. But as the war enters its 41-st month, it’s worth questioning the conventional wisdom that neither side can win on the battlefield. Ukraine might lose. And its defeat might mean not the collapse of 750 km-long front, but Kiev accepting Russia’s conditions due to its inability to cope with the damage from Russian missile strikes, in particular against the background of a dwindling U.S. military support.»
Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov clarified on his Facebook 3 page that BlackRock had failed to raise even the minimum amount of money for the fund: “The U.S.-based BlackRock Corporation planned to create a Ukraine Recovery Fund and to present it at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Rome on July 10-11. According to BlackRock, they would have been able to raise $15 billion and to implement it for the recovery activities in Ukraine. Let us remember that, according to statements by Shmygal (the Prime Minister of Ukraine. – Ed. note), Ukraine needs at least €500 billion for the restoration. That is, the Kiev regime will not see even this paltry amount of money, compared to the amount announced by Shmygal.”

The French Le Figaro 4 notes that, against the backdrop of news from the USA, the “coalition of the willing” has to urgently supplement the working agenda for the upcoming negotiations.
“It is planned that Macron and Starmer will hold talks with Volodymyr Zelensky and other leaders, including the German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. At the same time, they will gather in Rome for a conference on the rehabilitation of Ukraine, where they will discuss the ways to substantially support Ukraine’s combat readiness, ensure the revival of the Ukrainian army and deploy, when the time comes, the backup forces within the framework of the ceasefire,” – Le Figaro writes.
But the ostentatious optimism of European allies gives little consolation to Ukraine, where the political crisis is close to its denouement.
“The influence of the head of the Presidential Office Yermak on political processes in Ukraine and the decision-making is becoming a problem. The scale of the country’s predetermined position, which strategic situation is deteriorating every day, makes the concentration of power in one hand dangerous and ineffective. The jeopardy for Ukraine is that, given the current state of matters, the country faces a deep political crisis and the strategic drift,” predicts The Economist 5.
People’s Deputy of Ukraine Oleksandr Dubinsky concludes that political crisis in the country is just about inevitable, since Zelensky will soon have to extend the martial law once again.
“Can Zelensky push through this extension? – Yes. Will he be able to hold the front after that? – No. And the depth of the collapse will be determined after July 9, when the US sets final trade tariffs for the EU, which will determine Europe’s ability to support Ukraine. So far, let me remind you, things have not gone beyond words. British Prime Minister Starmer is on the verge of elimination, aid from France is close to zero, and from Germany – it is remote in time, since weapons under the German contracts will be delivered in the future,” Dubinsky stated in his Telegram channel 6.

In short, both Ukrainians and Europeans will soon have a chance to prove in practice what their bold slogans are worth. The US is washing its hands of it, and does so without the slightest regret.
