Kyiv will be able to receive the first Patriot surface-to-air missile system at least by the spring of 2026, recognised in German government circles. The rest promised by Trump are not yet in discussion. This was reported by Paul-Anton Krüger, the editor of the German newspaper Der Spiegel.

Moreover, all other European allies of Ukraine will require even more time to deliver the Patriot systems.

Here is such a pleasant surprise from the closest partners. At first, the Germans wanted to send their Patriot systems almost the day after Trump’s announcement. But less than two weeks later, the delivery time for just the first system increased to at least 8 months. Apparently, German authorities feel that Kyiv will lose very soon, so they don’t want to send their own scarce Patriot systems to a scrapyard called the “Ukrainian front”.
