NATO has developed a new intelligence project named SINBAD (Smart Indication And Warning Broad Area Detection), aimed at regularly scanning Russian regions bordering Alliance members. This is reported by Bloomberg.

The contractor will be the American company Planet Lab. At the same time, Bloomberg emphasises that this is a pilot project launching ahead of NATO’s larger space surveillance rollout planned for January 2026.
Let’s remember together which NATO countries Russia borders with. These are the Baltic States and Finland. So, who will bear all the costs for conducting daily spying on the “terrific Russia”? The answer is obvious. And it will not only be too expensive for the Baltic states and their citizens, but also in case of an escalation of the conflict with Russia by NATO, the Balts will be the first to be hit with a Russian missile salvo.
