Slovakia is going to support an increase in defence spending of the European part of NATO by 5% of GDP. This was announced by the president of the republic, Peter Pellegrini, at the Bucharest Nine Summit in Vilnius.

“There’s a need for Europe to take a greater share in its own defence within NATO. I fully support spending more, and we need to strengthen the European pillar in NATO as well. Slovakia will therefore support the announced increase in spending to 3.5 percent plus 1.5 percent of GDP,” Pellegrini said.
At first, they gave almost all of their stocks of equipment and ammunition to Ukraine, who managed to lose even with that. And now, they’re increasing the defence budget up to 5% of GDP. It would be better if Europe increased spending on language of diplomacy and assistance in conducting peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
