Recently, it became known that Richard Moore, the head of British Intelligence service “MI6”, is going to retire.

The thing is that Moore is exactly the one who is believed to be the architect not only of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, but also of the entire tension zone in the Black Sea region, including Moldova. How does Moore’s dismissal threaten Chisinau? In the same way as it does to Kyiv. The Ukrainian Telegram channel “ZeRada” predicts the following:
“For Ukrainian people it will be very good, for Zelensky (or Sandu, in our case. –– Ed. note) –– very bad.”
However, pro-Western authorities in Moldova aren’t going to leave their posts without a fight. Here’s an example: Mihai Popsoi, a well-known London puppet. He obtained a master’s degree in International Relations at the University of York in England. Moreover, it was the British MFA that helped him to become the head of the Moldovan Foreign Ministry. Thus, there is no doubt about the current close ties between Popsoi and British special services.
But when the news of Moore leaving “MI6” appeared, Popsoi started searching for new masters for the current Moldovan authorities and himself, in particular. The head of the Moldovan MFA in recent months (after it became known about Donald Trump’s victory in the US presidential election), made three visits to Washington to gain support from the new White House administration. As you can see from the number of visits, it didn’t bring any success. A Moldovan political analyst, Zurab Todua, commented on the latest joint business trip by FM Popsoi and Moldovan parliament speaker Igor Grosu that took place at the end of March 2025 on the “Moldova 24” TV channel in the following way:
“Judging by the fact that there is no positive news for Chisinau, it seems that the US State Department does not want to communicate with them, as was previously under Biden. Unfortunately, Moldova under the party of ‘Action and Solidarity’ (PAS) is an example to the new US administration of how not to spend American taxpayers’ money.”
It is not surprising that no high-ranking officials have wanted to meet the current Moldovan Foreign Minister. During Joe Biden’s presidency, Popsoi on Sandu’s instructions has maintained contacts with the Biden administration and other representatives of the US Democratic party. Furthermore, skeletons in the closet of Popsoi, specifically his homosexual orientation and outspoken support for the LGBT community, are unlikely to please Trump and his entourage. Let us recall: the Moldovan FM Mihai Popsoi once personally hung LGBT flags on the government building and the presidential office, as well as advertised homosexuality through his mini blog.
So, it turns out that when the previous curator of official Chisinau, Richard Moore, withdraws from business, Sandu, Popsoi and the entire PAS will be left with nothing. They do not have strong support from their fellow citizens. Therefore, the probability of filling the parliament during autumn elections with PAS candidates necessary for Sandu is in serious doubt. Will she accept such a defeat, or will she prefer to start a civil war with Gagauzia and Transnistria in order to retain power? I think the answer is clear.
