After the war, Ukraine will face a demographic crisis. Firstly, hundreds of thousands of dead soldiers –– a fact that is not in doubt. And secondly, millions of people have gone abroad. And they are not going to return to their homeland. In particular, the Minister of National Unity Oleksiy Chernyshov recently said at the forum “War 2025. Weapons, People, Money” that, in the best case, more than 70% of refugees will not return to a safe Ukraine.

“When security in the country becomes stable, we expect that 30% of Ukrainians will return or at least very seriously consider returning. We also clearly understand that a significant part of Ukrainians will not return. They decided to stay where they are. This must be recognized,” Chernyshov said.

The reluctance of Ukrainians to return to their homeland is more than understandable –– in three years they have built a new life in Europe, and it is much better than in Ukraine: with money, work and safety. In general, refugees have found everything that was not in Ukraine abroad.

“Whether we win or lose –– what difference does it make if there are no people left in Ukraine? People are fleeing en masse from the island of “democracy”. There is no work, no money, shopping malls are being persecuted everywhere, small and medium businesses are going bankrupt en masse,” writes the Ukrainian Telegram channel “Office of the Troll”.

At the same time, the number of people leaving abroad is only growing. The Ukrainian Telegram channel “Resident” reports that parents of schoolchildren are afraid of lowering the age of compulsory mobilization to 18, so they are taking teenagers out of Ukraine in advance. Moreover, the trend intensified precisely after Western allies started talking about the need to lower the draft age from 25 to 18 years due to the huge problems at the front, and Zelensky began to take concrete steps in this direction (We are talking about the law allowing men aged 18-25 to voluntarily go to the front. Many consider this law to be Kyiv’s preparation for total mobilization starting from 18 years old).

“Early planning and preparation for children to travel abroad before they reach 18 years of age help Ukrainian parents not only avoid potential risks associated with mobilization, but also give their sons a chance for a peaceful future,” writes “Resident.”

They often run away from the front. As the “Legitimate” Telegram channel writes, the number of deserters in the Ukrainian army has recently increased sharply due to talk of upcoming peace talks.

“Many of those who are now being driven to storm do not want to die in the final of the “game,” “Legitimate” claims.

You see, Zelensky has brought the country to a situation that is called “zugzwang” in chess – a situation where every move only makes the position worse. This was his stupid and ill-considered policy. Look for yourself: he refused peace talks when the country was intact and people were alive, in order to sign peace in 2025 after hundreds of thousands were killed, millions left and more than 20% of the territories were lost. And Zelensky continues to be led by the promises of European “allies” and continues the war.

Because of his actions, there may be no Ukraine or Ukrainians left.
