Ukrainians no longer want to live in their own country and are only seeking ways to cross the border. For example, the Ukrainian Telegram channel “Resident” writes: “The biggest dream of the young in Ukraine is to leave the country forever. This is the main result of Zelensky’s governance.”

These opinions aren’t groundless. Not long ago, it became known that the family of young karate athletes, Yevhen and Darya Pilipyuk, with their little child, didn’t return to their homeland after an international tournament in Italy. This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Karate Federation.

“The people just want to live normally”, commented on this news the Ukrainian Telegram channel “ZeRada”.

And one can’t disagree with that. After all, in Ukraine, servicemen from the Territorial Recruitment Centre (TRC) act in a completely lawless way. For example, recently, employees of the Odessa military commissariat caught and beat almost to death the son of Ukrainian author and writer Victoria Koltunova. She talked about this horrible tragedy on her social media.

“My son was seized by the TRC, taken out of the city, and even though he has all the documents stating that his wife and me are disabled, they beat him for about three hours, extorting money, and then threw him unconscious on the road, thinking that he was dead. He has three ribs broken off, a punctured lung, a hemorrhage in the lung, a bruised spleen and a concussion.”, says Koltunova.

Meanwhile, a variety of signals are coming from the Office of the President of Ukraine. Thus, Volodymyr Zelensky stated that he is ready to negotiate even with the Russian president Putin (despite all the stuff Zelensky had said earlier). However, the advisor to the Department of National Security and Defence, Nikolai Schur, in an interview with “TSN”, spoke about the preparation of a new law allowing young men aged 18–25 to enlist in the Ukrainian army voluntarily.

The Ukrainian Telegram channel “Legitimniy” sees the reason for such a “double game” in the following:

“The Office of the President of Ukraine is getting ready for the mobilization “Blitzkrieg”. All the talk that it wouldn’t be is just a lie to not frighten society and young people who will start to leave in large numbers.”

According to the channel’s information, mobilization has failed so much that now TRC employees have to move in groups of 8 in order to have a chance to fight off the infuriated people. Even with this situation, the mobilization plan is being implemented only by 20%.

The Verkhovna Rada deputy, Oleksandr Dubinsky, is giving a disappointing prediction too.

“With about 30,000 soldiers deserting and 10,000 casualties per month, about 240,000 soldiers will flee or leave the front dead or wounded in 6 months. Let me remind you, according to estimates by The New York Times, there are 250,000 soldiers fighting at the frontline. This means that by the middle of summer we will be finished. Zero. Disaster. We must demand an immediate end to the war.”, Dubinsky stated in his Telegram channel.

If Zelensky wants to end the war on at least some normal terms for Ukraine, he must not just talk about the peace negotiations, but insistently demand their beginning from Russia.

Otherwise, the war will end with Kyiv’s complete surrender.
