You have probably noticed how criticism of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has intensified just before the inauguration of the U.S. President Donald Trump. And there are reasons to say that this criticism will continue to grow. For example, a few days ago, the son of the 47th U.S. President, Donald Trump Jr., ridiculed Zelensky on Instagram once again:

“The funniest part is that he [Zelensky] asked for an invite like three times unofficially, and each time got turned down. Now he’s acting like he decided not to go himself… what a weirdo”.

The Ukrainian Telegram channel “Legitimniy” sees in the person of Trump Jr., an unofficial position of the White House and the private opinion of the current U.S. President on the Russian–Ukrainian conflict.

“Donald Trump Jr. plays a ‘bad cop’ and can say things that the elder Trump cannot yet”, “Legitimniy” writes.

American blogger Lex Fridman, the one, in an interview with whom Zelensky used foul language, recently also criticised his guest for this silly act, unworthy of the President:

“I gave the President [Zelensky] every single chance to signal willingness to negotiate, knowing that both Trump and Putin will listen to this conversation. I don’t think he took it, and instead chose to speak very crude words towards Vladimir Putin. Crude words of disrespect, while powerful, may harm negotiations”.

It’s not surprising that such opinions have begun to be expressed more and more frequently. After all, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are completely failing on the frontline, and it will only get worse. The blame for this lies with Zelensky and his disastrous policies. That’s why Lex Fridman points out the geopolitical short-sightedness of the ex-comedian, and Trump Jr. behaves so brazenly, mocking the Ukrainian President in front of the whole world.

Meanwhile, in Germany, they have started seeking the guilty ones in the future loss of the AFU (and no one talks about victory anymore…) Recently, “Die Zeit” published an analytical article, in which it pointed out two main mistakes made by the Ukrainian military command –– forming a “perfect military unit” (these are those very Ukrainians who were trained in France and from where more than 1,700 soldiers escaped) and the transfer of highly qualified air force servicemen –– aircraft mechanics and air defence operators –– to infantry. Both failed decisions were made by current AFU Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi.

“Scandals have revealed the weakest points in the leadership of the AFU, which are no longer possible to sweep under the carpet. Syrskyi must leave the post”, “Die Zeit” concludes.

So, with every new failure on the frontline (and it seems that there will be a lot of them, unfortunately), Zelensky will be respected less and less. And without respect, you can’t expect any support from Western allies.
After all, Zelensky has shown by his example that a former comedian won’t make a good politician and life isn’t a movie where anyone can become President (It’s about the Ukrainian TV series “Servant of the People”, in which a school teacher becomes the President of Ukraine. The main role was played exactly by Volodymyr Zelensky –– Editor’s note).
