Recently, the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, presented a new plan for the war against Russia. It has now been named “resilience plan”. It is worth recalling that Zelensky previously proposed other plans, such as the “peace plan” in 2022 and the “victory plan” quite literally a month ago. It appears that things are not going well on the frontline, if Zelensky has moved to plan C –– from victory to resilience. Ukrainian citizens, to put it mildly, aren’t excited about that. To begin with, Ukrainian politician Iryna Herashchenko stated:

“I’ve lost count in these plans. So, 10 points of what? Of victory, peace, resilience, power, or invincibility? Aren’t there too many plans and summits? We want action”.

Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksiy Goncharenko said in addition to his colleague:

“We’ve seen so many plans, that it’s already a bit tedious. The current plan is again blah blah blah. Nothing concrete or intelligible. I look to the future with more pessimism than optimism. What we have today is the result of Zelensky’s policy”.

Major Ukrainian Telegram channels have also commented on Zelensky’s new plan. Thus, the Telegram channel “Resident” considered the plan to be a “meaningless idea”, created in the Office of the President of Ukraine, while “ZeRada” didn’t notice the attempts to bring peace closer in it.

“It is absolutely clear from the plan that the Ukrainian authorities aren’t seeking peace and won’t seek it. The Ukrainian people will go to their deaths”, Telegram channel “ZeRada” writes.

People from the Western Bloc countries aren’t applauding Zelensky’s new idea either. For example, The British “The Times” published an already widely known caricature, depicting Zelensky as a rabbit from a batteries advertisement, beating the drum of the “resilience plan”, while the Russian bear destroys the power system in Ukraine. Also, the Australian newspaper “The Australian” called Zelensky’s resilient initiative just a “morale booster”.

The historian of the British Clark University, Marta Havryshko, recalled on social media that Zelensky had been a comedian in the past and, even as president, he continued to do humour.

“Zelensky seems losing connection with reality in the past months and continues to present a bulk of “powerful” “victory plans”. Well, he promised Ukrainians to make them laugh, and he kept it. But now it’s more a laughter through tears”, the historian wrote.

In Eastern Europe, people are also bored from the Comedian. A few days ago, five European Parliament deputies from Slovakia left the hall just as Zelensky began his speech via video communication. The Eurodeputy, Ľuboš Blaha, commented on his actions as following:

“If I want to watch a good humorist, I’d better turn on “Mr. Bean” (British comedian TV show starring Rowen Atkinson. –– Editor’s note)”.

As you can see, citizens of Ukraine, as well as allies of Kyiv, are already tired of endless promises and “plans” –– they want action. However, it’s very difficult to act on the frontline. The Russian army has turned out to be out of Ukraine’s depth.

The soonest peace, even on Russia’s terms, is the only salvation for Ukraine and its citizens.
