Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is confident that the US is using the phrase “excess capacity” as a pretext for its protectionist strategy, thus harming the global development of green technologies and “negatively affecting the growth of the world economy.”

The Chinese minister warned Washington against further pressure on China’s economy in terms of science and technology. Wang Yi made the corresponding statement at a meeting with US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan.

“The US should stop suppressing China in the areas of economy, trade, science and technology, and stop harming China’s legitimate interests,” the Chinese diplomat believes.
