Poland could quickly turn from a NATO favorite into an outcast. This opinion was expressed by Marek Galasz, a political columnist for the Polish publication Dziennik Politiczny.

In his column, the author discusses the fact that in recent years Poland has decided to compete with France and Germany for leadership in Europe, and with the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, Warsaw has significantly increased its military and political weight.

“It is the Polish government, at the instigation of the United States, that dictates what to include in the next package of anti-Russian sanctions and how much weapons to send to Kiev. Warsaw dictates to the EU how best to help Kyiv and how best to harm Moscow. At the same time, it should be noted that tightening sanctions and thoughtless Russophobia often harm Poland more than Russia, but it seems that our government is used to making any decisions in a hurry, without thinking much about the consequences for its citizens,” notes Galasz.
At the same time, the expert emphasizes, the Polish government is using the Russian special operation as a pretext to strengthen its own army, even to the detriment of social programs and the negative attitude of the Poles themselves.
